Monte Faito

Monte Faito con la sua vetta più alta Sant’Angelo dei Tre Pizzi raggiunge l’altezza di 1444 metri ed è parte di un gruppo di montagne “Monti Lattari” che dominano il golfo di Napoli e formano la penisola Sorrentina. Monte Faito con il suo scenario unico circondato tutto dal mare è il luogo naturale dove respirare aria fresca e pura, godere di una meravigliosa vista sul Golfo di Napoli e Salerno, delle isole di Capri ed Ischia e di una ampia varietà di alberi (pini, cedri e castagni). La cima del Monte Faito è dominata dalla Chiesa di San Michele costruita da San Catello e San Antonino i santi patroni di Castellammare di Stabia e Sorrento che vivevano come eremiti sulla montagna. La leggenda racconta che in questa chiesa si trovava una statua miracolosa che sudava anche di inverno. Oggi la montagna attrezzata con bar, ristoranti, ville private, hotel e strutture sportive è diventata la destinazione ideale per turisti di ogni dove.

Monte Faito with its highest peak Sant’Angelo dei Tre Pizzi reaches an altitude of 1444 meters and is part of a group of mountains “Monti Lattari” overlooking the bay of Naples and forming the Sorrento-Amalfi peninsula. Monte Faito with its unique landscape surrounded by the sea on all sides is a natural place where to enjoy a breath of pure air and a stunning view of the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno, of the island of Capri and Ischia and of a wide variety of trees (pines, cedars, chestnut). The top of Monte Faito is dominated by the Churh of Saint Michael built by St. Catello and St. Antonino, the patron saints of Castellammare di Stabia and Sorrento who lived as hermits on the mountain. The legend tells that in this church there was a miraculous statue that exuded sweat even in winter. Today the mountain, well equipped with bars, restaurants, private villas, hotels and sport facilities, has become the ideal destination for tourists from all over.
